Photos from the Pen and Ink opening reception on 3/3/18 at Union Street Gallery in Chicago Heights, Illinois. The two pieces in the first photo sold to a collector of mid-century modern, googie architecture related things. Those same two pieces I turned into screenprints on wood for the Re-Cycle show up now at Wildrose Brewery in Griffith,Indiana.
The second piece is the original inking for what became the back cover of Elliot Gress's Naptown Collective Gradations Zine. It is inspired by the Woodmar Mall signed which was recently demolished in Hammond, Indiana. You can still purchase a copy of the Gradations Zine at http://thenaptowncollective.bigcartel.com/product/gradations-z.
That is artist Sophia Rapata with me in the last photo. Her solo show at Fluid Coffee Bar in Valparaiso, Indiana wrapped up the night before. She has prints of her artwork featured in her show for sale at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SophiaRapata. She'll have original pieces for sale soon. She wore the coolest jacket for the show...should have won "best jacket of show".
I am keeping the original inking for myself but I may make some screenprints of my Naptown piece and place them up for sale.Keep an eye out...
